Kulkarni was not trained from home but learnt from experiences. He was born in Gulbarga and played solo concerts when he was only 19 in “Gayaki Anga” & “Tantrakari Anga”.
A flautist who captures the essence of music and delivers to the ones finding them, it is what Kulkarni does. He does not play the flute but influences it. The rhymes are so connected; it feels like the flute is playing itself. This is the artistry of Kulkarni and he has done concerts with Sitar, Hindustani vocals, and violin as well.
The evolving teacher got trained by the highest names, Ustad Shaikh Abdullah Khazi, sitar maestro and Ustad Shafique Khan. Vidwan Jayachandra Kulur taught him the classic Carnatic taal system.
